Creamy Garlic Shrimp

Creamy Garlic Shrimp Recipe

This creamy garlic shrimp is quick, decadent, and bursting with rich, garlicky flavors. Perfect for serving over pasta, rice, or crusty bread!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4–5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the Shrimp
    • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter Base
    • In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Create the Cream Sauce
    • Reduce the heat to medium-low. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Combine Shrimp and Sauce
    • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to meld the flavors.
  5. Garnish and Serve
    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately over pasta, rice, or alongside crusty bread.

Tips:

  • Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter option.
  • Add vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra color and nutrition.
  • For an even richer flavor, splash in a little white wine before adding the cream.
