Ingredients

For the Fritters:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil works best)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
    • In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until combined (do not overmix).
    • Gently fold in the diced apples.
  2. Heat the Oil
    • In a deep skillet or pot, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure consistent temperature.
  3. Fry the Fritters
    • Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil (about 2 tablespoons per fritter). Do not overcrowd the pot.
    • Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
    • Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fritters to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  4. Make the Glaze
    • In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed.
  5. Glaze the Fritters
    • Dip the warm fritters into the glaze or drizzle the glaze on top. Allow the glaze to set for a minute.
  6. Serve
    • Enjoy warm and fresh for the best flavor!

Tips:

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for a nice contrast to the sweetness.
  • Fry in small batches to keep the oil temperature steady.
  • For extra indulgence, sprinkle a little powdered sugar on top before serving.

These apple fritters are crispy, sweet, and irresistible—perfect for fall or anytime you’re craving a cozy treat! 🍎✨
