Creamy Garlic Shrimp Recipe
This creamy garlic shrimp is quick, decadent, and bursting with rich, garlicky flavors. Perfect for serving over pasta, rice, or crusty bread!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4–5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
- Sauté the Shrimp
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Garlic Butter Base
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Create the Cream Sauce
- Reduce the heat to medium-low. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Combine Shrimp and Sauce
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to meld the flavors.
- Garnish and Serve
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately over pasta, rice, or alongside crusty bread.
Tips:
- Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter option.
- Add vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra color and nutrition.
- For an even richer flavor, splash in a little white wine before adding the cream.
