Do Nothing Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 (18.25 oz) box yellow cake mix (or white cake mix)
  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for topping, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Mix the cake batter:
    • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, instant vanilla pudding mix, vegetable oil, eggs, water, and vanilla extract.
    • Using an electric mixer on medium speed, mix everything together for about 2-3 minutes until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  3. Bake the cake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
    • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Cool the cake: Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  5. Prepare the topping:
    • Once the cake has cooled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the top of the cake.
    • Dust with powdered sugar if desired for a light, sweet finish.
